March Scholar of the Month: Jenna Domann!

Congratulations to Jenna Domann, the Panhellenic Scholar of the Month!




Jenna is a senior Sigma Kappa from Nortonville, KS majoring in Human Biology with an emphasis in Applied Behavioral Science.  She is graduating KU this May and will be begin the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Washington University in St. Louis in August.  Congratulations to Jenna and Sigma Kappa!

The Willow Domestic Violence Center
This is a Lawrence-based agency that provides shelter and other services to survivors of domestic violence. As the first shelter established in Kansas, the Willow Domestic Violence Center has been helping women and children since 1976. Midnight Farms
CLO's Midnight Farms is part of Community Living Opportunities (CLO). CLO's mission is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs. Lawrence Humane Society
The first step to becoming a volunteer is to attend a Volunteer Information Session. To find out dates and times of sessions and to register for a session, contact the shelter by emailing Volunteer@LawrenceHumane.org or calling (785) 843-6835. You can:

Heartland Community Health Center
Volunteer at the clinic or Volunteer at the food pantry. As a volunteer at the food pantry, you work one Saturday morning of each month. Fill out the volunteer application at  http://www.heartlandhealth.org/help/

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County
Volunteers should be at least 18 years old, have their own transportation and insurance, and be able to meet weekly for a couple of hours with their "Littles." Mentors in the Bigs in Schools program should also be 18 years old, and be able to meet weekly with the child at his/her school during the school year, usually during the lunch hour. Beyond that, the qualifications are quite simple: have a caring, friendly attitude and be willing to give time and attention to an at-risk child. February Scholar of the Month: Anna Scopp!

Congratulations to Anna Scopp, the February Scholar of the Month!





Anna is a sophomore Gamma Phi Beta studying Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Kansas.  She plans to be a Physician's Assistant.  She's involved in the Honor's Program and is a nanny for a 29-year-old woman with Down Syndrome.  Some of her favorite things to do at KU are eat Wheel Pizza, and sled down the JRP hill on snow days.  Congratulations again, Anna!  We're so proud of you!
